Kids Protection Planning
If you are a parent of minor children, your estate plan must begin with a Kids Protection Plan. At Soundview Law Group, P.C. we help you create a "Playbook" that ensures your children are always cared for by the people you want, in the way you want, no matter what happens to you.
Our Approach
As parents of young children ourselves, we know you would do anything for your children. But ask yourself, what would happen to them if you suddenly became incapacitated or passed away?

It's a hard question to ask, but as a parent, it's your responsibility to make sure that your kids are cared for in the best way possible if the unthinkable ever happened to you.

That's why we offer a Kids Protection Plan with every estate plan we prepare for families with young children.

Without proper planning, if the unthinkable happens to you, the unthinkable can happen to them, too.

Your children could be temporarily placed with child protective services even if you have a Will in place, or they could be left in the care of the one person in your family you would never want raising them. A Probate Judge who does not know you, your wishes, or your children, will decide who will raise your kids.

Not to mention, a public court process can tie up the assets used to support your children for months or even years, potentially depriving your kids of the resources they need to live comfortably, and potentially opening them up to the possibility of predators who review public records to find out what 18 year olds in their community just came into money. And when they turn 18, they get a check for whatever is left--outright--with no protection or guidance.

But you don't have to leave that to chance.

Our Kids Protection Plans include comprehensive instructions, legal documents, and ID Cards for your wallet so that you have what you need at any moment, so those who depend on you at home are always taken care of.

If you are in an accident or if anything else happens, your Kids Protection Plan will ensure your children are raised by the people you choose, not someone chosen by a Probate Judge who doesn't know your kids or your wishes.

Of Children Would Trade 1 Year For Just 1 More Day
According to New York Life
According to Judi's House
Following a loss, what children need most is a lasting support system. Sadly, over half of affected children are deprived of this important need if parents have not prepared for the worst.
One in 14 children at any given moment (which is 5.3 million U.S. children) have suffered the premature loss of a parent, yet most estate planning attorneys skip this important planning.
It is almost non-negotiable that thoughtfully passing down your legacy to your children is all they really want. Why else would they trade one whole year for just one more day with you?
