Frequently Asked Questions Regarding the merge with Tully Law Group, PC

We are pleased to share some exciting news that will further enhance the legal services we provide to you. Effective April 1, 2024, Soundview Law Group is officially merging with Tully Law Group, a well-established firm renowned for its expertise in Elder Care and Medicaid planning.

Please see below for some frequently asked questions about the merge. For additional information please feel free to contact me directly at Tony@tullyelderlaw.com.

Q: Why the merge and how does this affect me?

A: This merger opens up a broader spectrum of legal expertise for you, your families, and your network. In addition to our existing focus on estate planning for young families and high net worth individuals and families, Tully Law Group brings extensive experience in Elder Care and Medicaid planning. This means you now have access to a more comprehensive range of services to address your evolving needs at every stage of life and to assist your family members and friends who need to plan for long term care.

Q: How can I get in touch with you?

A: You can reach me directly at tony@tullyelderlaw.com or by calling the office at 631-424-2800. The new office is located in Melville and additional offices are in Riverhead.

Q: Where are my documents now being stored?

A: If you chose to store your original will in our fireproof safe, that remains the same. Our safe is being securely transported to the Melville office. The accessibility of digital documents has not changed and our team is able to provide those copies upon request, as always.

Q: I already have my estate plan established. What is Elder Care Protection Planning?

A: Elder Care Protection Planning can ensure that you get the healthcare you need while preserving income for yourself, and assets for your heirs as you age. Through the use of your estate and incapacity planning, in addition to an irrevocable asset protection trust, we can help clients and their families prepare for long term health care in the future. The ideal time to plan for your long-term care is at least five years prior to your anticipated need for care.

Q: Then what is Life Care Planning?

A: Life Care Planning services combine asset protection, medicaid and care advocacy to offer a holistic approach that helps families with every aspect of caring for someone with a chronic illness. Tully Law Group was the first law firm in New York to integrate the Life Care Plan model into its practice and has done so since 2009. In essence, Life Care Planning legal services help people find and pay for good long-term health care by bundling asset protection, Medicaid benefits qualification, long-term care services coordination, community and nursing home advocacy, and crisis intervention.

Q: What makes Tully Law Group unique?

A: With the help of the merge, Tully Law Group is now able to offer our clients legal planning services through every stage of life. From estate planning to elder care protection and life care planning, we’re not only with you every step of the way, but offer unique services like our elder care coordination and end of life doula services.

Q: What is an Elder Care Coordinator?

A: As a part of their Life Care Plan, an Elder Care Coordinator is assigned to help our clients and their families with their long-term care concerns. At Tully Law Group, PC your Elder Care Coordinator functions as the point of contact for the family and assists in coordinating services to help you take care of your loved one. Your Elder Care Coordinator has extensive knowledge about the costs, quality, and availability of resources in the community. As our families begin their journey through the long-term care system, it is helpful for them to have a supportive and knowledgeable advocate to accompany them along the way.

Q: What should I do now?

A: Depending on age and your potential need for long term health services, consider setting up an Elder Care Protection Plan to help qualify for Medicaid benefits without losing the right to your assets. This is a great planning tool for parents and grandparents as well.

Q: Am I able to schedule a meeting with Tony at the new office to discuss further?

A: Absolutely! Contact me directly at tony@tullyelderlaw.com or call the office at 631-424-2800 and let them know you are an existing client of Tony looking to schedule a meeting.
